Drawing inspiration from the vibrant energies of Hawai‘i and Bali, Honolulu-born designer Keari Shibuya founded THOSE SEEN DANCING® in 2017, blending her lifelong passion for Brazilian swimwear with her background in environmental work and supporting local small businesses. Rooted in a deep connection to island life and beach culture, Keari designs beautiful, consciously produced swimwear that celebrates self-expression for TSD babes everywhere. Channeling the essence of the quote that inspired the brand name, THOSE SEEN DANCING offers unique pieces that empower you to be bold, unapologetic, and authentically you under the sun.

We aim to create swimwear that doesn’t compromise the planet or the communities we touch. While using recycled & sustainable materials is a great start, we take it further by considering the entire lifecycle of our products: how they’re made, where the energy to create them comes from, who is making them, and whether the organizations involved are locally- or foreign-owned.
We work exclusively with reputable, small, locally-owned factories to ensure ethical production at every stage.

We work with independent artists from Hawai‘i and around the world to create each of our unique prints. We use a low-impact printing process that substantially reduces water, waste and electricity usage.
