Honolulu-born designer Keari Shibuya founded THOSE SEEN DANCING® in 2017, blending her lifelong passion for Brazilian swimwear with her background in small business and environmental work. Rooted in a deep connection to island life and beach culture, Keari designs consciously produced swimwear that celebrates beauty and self-expression for TSD babes everywhere. Channeling the essence of the quote that inspired the brand name, THOSE SEEN DANCING offers unique pieces that empower you to be bold, unapologetic, and authentically you under the sun.

Out goal is to create swimwear that doesn’t compromise the planet or the communities we touch. While using recycled & sustainable materials is a great start, we take it further by considering the entire lifecycle of our products: how they’re made, where the energy to create them comes from, who is making them, and whether the organizations involved are locally- or foreign-owned.

We work exclusively with reputable, small, locally-owned factories to ensure ethical production at every stage.

We design for style & fit, not trends. Our designs can be worn season to season, year after year. With minimal cuts in bold colors and fabrics, THOSE SEEN DANCING pieces are effortlessly versatile and meant to be styled in as many unique ways as the women who wear them.

We work with independent artists from Hawai‘i and around the world to create each of our original prints. We use a low-impact printing process that substantially reduces water, waste and electricity usage.

Our collections offer original pieces designed for the true bikini connoisseur, reimagining our favorite Brazilian skin-baring styles from the 2000's that were made to turn heads.
