Ame-no-Uzume is the Japanese goddess of the dawn. She is said to have invented performing arts; her spontaneous dancing once saved the world from eternal darkness.
This kimono is truly one of a kind. We created her with unique details like dramatic flared button-down sleeves and slits on each side. Her silky fabric was screen printed by hand, a tedious process matching each print to the next to achieve harmony in the garment. Finished with a beautiful leopard trim that we repurposed from leftover fabric rolls at one of our favorite fabric stores in Bali.
FABRIC & CARE: Luxurious lightweight fabric is smooth to the touch and has a subtle sheen. Feels like silk but easy to care for. 50% rayon, 50% viscose. Colors: Hime (floral with black background) and Kumadori (kabuki masks with white background).
Hand wash or delicate cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Hang dry. Low iron if needed.
